Yahoo News Wetherspoons shakes up pub grub menu with new food items launching next week
Wetherspoons is shaking up its food menu with a number of new plates as of Wednesday May 1 - with tastes from around the world. That's because the pub chain is launching a new ramen noodle bowl and shawarma chicken wrap for foodies across the UK.
The ramen noodle bowl is vegan, and features noodles, bean sprouts, shitake mushrooms, spring onions, pak choi, bamboo shoots, red onion, sliced chillies and coriander in a light broth. Prices vary depending on the pub, but on average, the dish comes in at £6.99 with a soft drink, or £8.52 with an alcoholic beverage.
You can also add a poached egg or grilled chicken breast for an extra cost if you're not keen on the vegan option. The shawarma chicken wrap, meanwhile, contains spiced pulled chicken thigh, Middle Eastern spices, Naga chilli, garlic and herb sauces, tomato, onion, rocket and fresh mint - all wrapped up in a 12 inch or 10 inch bread. It'll set you back £5.70 on average with a soft drink or £7.23 with an alcoholic beverage.
The Mirror reports that there are also a number of 10-inch wraps available, which are priced at £4.11 with a soft drink or £5.64 with an alcoholic drink - including a vegetarian brunch wrap (fried egg, two vegan sausages, cheddar cheese), southern fried chicken with salad leaves and smoky chipotle mayo, or fried halloumi-style cheese with a sweet chilli sauce.
New breakfast items also land, as well as the fiesta brunch - £3.88 for a poached egg, toast, guacamole, pico de gallo, drilled halloumi-style cheese and mushroom salsa. There's also fresh fruit and yoghurt for £3.66, and American-style pancakes for £4.99 with banana, strawberries, blueberries and maple-flavour syrup.
Vegan beans on toast, vegan sausage butty, and vegan tomato and basil soup also come to the menu, while dessert options including sticky toffee pudding and millionaire's dessert also land.
