Wetzel’s Pretzels Is Giving Out Free Pretzels for Its Anniversary (No Catch!)
The Southern California company (with locations nationwide) has found a special way to celebrate National Pretzel Day and its 30th birthday
Wetzel’s Pretzels is celebrating its favorite day of the year.
The fast food chain will mark its 30th birthday and National Pretzel Day (or National Wetzel Day as they call it!) — by giving away lots of free treats.
On Friday, April 26, from 3 p.m. local time until close, Wetzel's Pretzels will be handing out one free Original Pretzel per person across all participating locations nationwide (no purchase necessary).
The company announced the offer in a press release, and confirmed it to PEOPLE.

“There’s no better way to celebrate 30 years than our favorite day, National Wetzel Day, allowing us to give back to our beloved fans who are the reason for our storied journey,” Wetzel’s Pretzels Head of Marketing, Hillary Frei, added.
“From our small roots as a tiny SoCal pretzel shop way back in 1994 to where Wetzel’s has gone, it’s remarkable, and we want all of our fans to join us in celebrating our birthday all year long. Wetz Party!” Frei continued.
The celebrations don't end there, as the brand also announced it would be giving fans the chance to win an appearance from a Wetzel’s Pretzels Food Truck at their next birthday party. Customers can also enter a second sweepstake for a chance of being one of five people to win free Wetzel's Pretzels for a year.

This isn't the first time Wetzel's Pretzels has given out free treats to mark National Pretzel Day. The Southern California staple has been offering freebies on April 26 for years now, but 2024 is a special one given the company's milestone anniversary.
It's been three decades since Bill Phelps and Rick Wetzel opened the first Wetzel's Pretzel's bakery in Redondo Beach, Calif. back in 1994. They now have more than 340 bakeries across the U.S. and around the world, including at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.
