As we move into a new week, the UK can expect a mixed bag of weather with both sunshine and rain forecast.

The first weekend of spring has seen snow falling across parts of the country and the Met Office issuing weather warnings. But the conditions are set to improve this week and above average temperatures are expected.

Many parts of the country will first experience some rainfall on Sunday, especially in the North Sea coasts and southwestern regions. However, there will also be clear spells overnight, which will allow for frost and patchy fog or freezing fog to develop in the early hours of the morning, the Met Office said.

On Monday, the day will have a cold start but fog will clear away quickly. It will be a dry and sunny day for most parts of the UK, although clouds will increase from the southwest later on. There will be spells of rain and strengthening winds that will bring average temperatures across the country.

As we move towards Tuesday and beyond, the UK can expect mostly settled weather with plenty of bright and sunny spells throughout the week. There may be some showers, particularly on Tuesday, and strong winds in the northwest. However, temperatures will remain slightly above average.
