What to watch on TV this week: 'Celebrity MasterChef' to 'Marriage'

Celebrity MasterChef is back in the kitchen this week as the reality series returns to BBC One.

There's also a new sitcom, Marriage, starring Sean Bean and Nicola Walker to look out for, as well as the start of Douglas Henshall's final run in Shetland.

Good Grief with Reverend Richard Coles - Channel 4 - Monday, 10pm

Priest, broadcaster and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Rev Richard Coles lost his partner David to alcoholism in 2019, and this documentary sees him explore how to deal with grief.

This includes going on a "grief cruise" as he meets others dealing with their own losses and shares what he's learned.

Tom Daley: Illegal To Be Me - BBC One - Tuesday, 9pm

While viewers might have been enjoying the feats of athletic achievement featured in the Commonwealth Games this summer, diver Tom Daley is exploring the shocking truth that it's illegal to be gay in more than half the nations eligible to take part.

He meets his fellow sports people fighting for change across the Commonwealth and reflects on his own experiences of feeling unsafe because of homophobic attitudes while travelling for competitions.

Celebrity MasterChef - BBC One - Wednesday/Thursday, 8pm, Friday 9pm

The cooking contest is back in the kitchen, this time in celebrity form.

Opening week's double bill of episodes include Nancy Dell'Olio, Paul Chuckle and Danny Jones amongst those taking on the first heats challenges.

The three best will cook in Friday's quarter-final, with two making it to the semi-final.

Shetland - BBC One - Wednesday, 9pm

Douglas Henshall has announced that season seven will be his last in the role of DI Perez, so it's a bittersweet return for fans of the Ann Cleeves adaptation.

A vulnerable young man disappears, drawing Perez into the secret past of a family new to Shetland.

The beloved 90s film gets its own TV series this week for subscribers to Amazon's Prime Video.

Expect more from the world of 1940s women's baseball in this feel-good series that combines the familiar with some new stories.

Marriage - BBC One - Sunday, 9pm

Sean Bean and Nicola Walker are the star leads in this sitcom about a long-married couple adapting to changes in their lives.

Career ambitions are poles apart after one of them is made redundant, while they also have to get used to their daughter's new boyfriend.
