The best things to watch on TV this week, 20 - 26 February, 2023

Desperate Measures - Channel 5 - Tuesday - Friday, 9pm

Amanda Abbington and Sunetra Sarker star in this Channel Five drama that is stripped across the week from Tuesday onwards.

Abbington plays a single mum and bank clerk whose life takes a dark turn when her son gets drawn into a drug deal, leading to threats to their lives.

The Supervet: Safari Special - Channel 4 - Thursday, 9pm

Popular Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick steps out of his comfort zone by leaving his Surrey practice behind and travelling to South Africa to treat some exotic animals.

His new patients include rhinos and tigers, as he administers some groundbreaking treatments in this special spin-off.

Beyond Paradise - BBC One - Friday, 8pm

Death In Paradise fans are in for a treat this Friday - directly before the series finale, they'll get the chance to catch up with beloved former character DI Humphrey Goodman in his new life back on UK soil.

The spin-off series sees Humphrey (Kris Marshall) and his holiday romance Martha making a go of life in Devon, where he finds his new rural setting anything but peaceful and with a crime rate to match his former Caribbean home.

Gogglebox - Channel 4 - Friday, 9pm

TV's most outspoken critics are back on their sofas this weekend for the newest series of Gogglebox.

Favourites Marcus and Mica have called time on their starring roles after five years, but all the other familiar families will be back to give us their take on the week's most talked about TV.

Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway - ITV1 - Saturday, 7pm

ITV bill this as "the happiest 90 minutes of the week" and there are certainly plenty of Ant and Dec fans looking forward to seeing them back with their light entertainment show.

They'll be joined again by Fleur East, Stephen Mulhern and Jordan North, while this week's guests include Alison Hammond, David Tennant and Tom Grennan.

Endeavour - ITV1 - Sunday, 8pm

It's the final series of this Morse prequel starring Shaun Evans and Roger Allam, which has made it to nine instalments - one more than the original Inspector Morse.

A grisly, murder-strewn series opener takes in an orchestra's deadly secrets and a London criminal who brings trouble to Oxford.
