What's leaving Netflix and Crave in September: Last chance to watch 'Steel Magnolias,' 'The Dark Knight'
From romantic dramedies like 'Spanglish' to Oscar-winning films like 'Chicago,' these are the TV shows and movies being removed from the streaming sites
While the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes are impacting new TV shows and movies, some fan-favourites from the past are being removed from streaming sites in Canada, particularly Netflix and Crave.
Fans of a good romantic dramedy will want to take note that there are only a few days left to watch a couple notable ones on Netflix.
Specifically, Spanglish with Adam Sandler, Téa Leoni the late Cloris Leachman will be leaving the streaming site. In addition to Steel Magnolias with an all-star cast that includes Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, Sally Field, Julia Roberts and Dolly Parton.
Another Roberts-leading movie, 1998's Stepmom where the actor starred alongside Susan Sarandon, is being removed from Netflix at the beginning of September.
Two Tyler Perry movies, Tyler Perry’s Madea Witness Protection and Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, will also no longer be available on Netflix next month.
For Batman fans, Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises are both being removed from Crave at the end of September, both starring Christian Bale.
Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch will also be removed from the site next month, along with Oscar-winning films Lost in Translation (directed by Sofia Coppola, starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson), and Rob Marshall's Chicago, starring Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
For manga fans, the iconic Sailor Moon series is also leaving Crave in September.
