Where the cast of Dream Team is now from soap stardom to Hollywood

It's now been over 25 years since popular TV show Dream Team first came to our screens.

First airing on Sky One in 1997, the series followed members of the football group Harchester United, known as The Dragons. Running for a decade until 2007, the show went down in history for its ridiculous murder plots to team tragedies.

It's now been over a decade since the show ended, but it is still remembered by many. The cult Sky TV series became the training ground for many EastEnders, Footballers Wives and Hollywood stars, Hull Live previously reported.

Here, we look back at what some of the cast members have been up to since leaving the show. You may recognise them today for starring in different soaps, popular shows and hit films.

Alison King - Lynda Block

Years ago, Dream Team fans knew Alison King as sultry Lynda Block. Known for numerous affairs and being owner and chief executive of the Dragons, Lynda was a law unto herself.

In later years, King became a series regular on Coronation Street as troublesome Carla Connor. She left Corrie in 2016, before making a big return in 2019 and winning British Soap Award for 'Best Female'.

In her career, King has also appeared in the likes of Brookside and Holby City. She also has a daughter.

Robert Kazinsky - Casper Rose

Robert Kazinsky came onto our Dream Team screens as Casper Rose in the mid-00s. Kazinsky went on to star as Sean Slater in EastEnders from 2006-2009, but went on to gamble everything on breaking America.

In the States he made a name for himself and went on to appear in True Blood, Second Chance and big screen hits Pacific Rim and 2016 blockbuster Warcraft: The Beginning. He also appeared in one billion dollar blockbuster film Captain Marvel.

In 2019, he made a guest appearance in EastEnders returning as Sean Slater. Earlier this year, he announced he had been cast in the latest Star Trek film, which also stars A-lister, Michelle Yeoh, The Mirror reported.

Jamie Lomas - Alex Dempsey

Jamie Lomas played Alex Dempsey from Dream Team, but is now known for being part of the cast of Hollyoaks. Playing Warren Fox throughout the years, the actor has also went on to have some big small screen roles after leaving Harchester.

He had a huge role in EastEnders as suspect in the Lucy Beale murder trial, Jake Stone. Back in 2017, he appeared on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Jamie was previously married to fellow soap star Kym Marsh.

Duncan Pow - Liam McKay

Duncan Pow, who played Liam McKay, has continued to act since his Dream Team days. He was seen in Holby City, 24: Live Another Day and BBC hit The Night Manager.

The actor went on to star in popular Netflix series Black Mirror, as well as The Last Czars. He also starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Gary Lucy - Gary Roscoe

Essex-boy Gary Lucy played Gary Roscoe in the cult series. He also starred in Grange Hill and Footballers' Wives before going onto the soap world appearing in EastEnders and most famously in Hollyoaks.

In 2010, Lucy came runner up on Dancing On Ice alongside Maria Fillipov. He has also played roles in The Bill, Whatever It Takes, The Match, and Missing.

Charles/Chucky Venn - Curtis Alexander

Sky One viewers will remember seeing Venn as powerful defender Curtis Alexander. But he also had strong roles in Casualty, Doctors and in EastEnders as Ray Dixon.

For the latter role, he made his first on screen appearance on 10 January 2012. In 2008, Veen appeared in superhero film The Dark Knight.

In 2018 he took part in And They're Off in aid of Sport Relief, as well as BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, partnered with Karen Clifton.

Darren Morfitt - Dean Hocknell

Darren Morfitt went from being Dean Hocknell in Dream Team to star in some great roles. His career has seen him appear in Grafters, 55 Degrees North, Line of Duty and Channel 4 youth drama Top Boy.

Morfitt also appeared in BBC's Happy Valley, Dog Soldiers, Silent Witness, Holby City, and The Split. In 2017, he appeared in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

More recently, he arrived on the cobbles as Dom Everett in Coronation Street.

Naomi Ryan - Ashleigh King

Naomi Ryan played fiery Ashleigh King in Dream Team. She went on to star in Mr Selfridge, The Bill, Mile High, Coronation Street and 2016 TV series Guilt.

The star has also appeared in soap Doctors, on an episode of Doctor Who, and in popular urban drama film Honeytrap. She also starred in Marvel's 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy.

Ricky Whittle - Ryan Naysmith

Midfielder maestro Ryan Naysmith was played by Ricky Whittle. After leaving the show, TV fans will remember Whittle playing Calvin Valentine in Hollyoaks.

He came runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing and went on to star in many popular TV shows. His credits include Mistresses, The 100 and American Gods.

Jim Alexander - Jamie Parker

Following the tragic end to his character Jamie Parker - the troubled goalkeeper was caught up in match fixing, gambling and the odd kidnapping which ended with him being gunned down by armed police.

Alexander went on to appear in Doctors, EastEnders and The Interceptor. Prior to Dream Team, he also appeared in Queer as Folk and The Bill.

Jessica-Jane Clement - Cindi Marshall

Star of The Real Hustle and Gangsters Gamblers Geezers, Jessica-Jane was Cindi Marshall before the nation fell in love with her on reality TV. She has also starred in all of the one-off specials: The 12 Scams Of Christmas, Winter Special, Worlds' Greatest Bar Bets, Best Ever Cons, Don't Miss A Trick and The Real Hustle Around the World.

The actress and now mum-of-four, also appeared on I'm A Celeb in 2011. Jessica is married to well-known hairdresser and brand owner Lee Stafford.

Junior Nunoo - Eugene Rose

In the hit Sky One series, Junior Nunoo played footballer Eugene Rose. The character, known as 'Tag,' brother of fellow player Caspar Rose, played by Robert Kazinsky.

After Dream Team, Nunoo is said to have gone into producing. According to Imdb, he is known for projects such as Notes, Fast Life and Models Night Night.

John Salthouse - Frank Patcham

John Salthouse played Frank Patcham on the hit show. Salthouse went on to appear in Casualty, Lewis, and Unforgotten.

But he made his name before appearing on Dream Team, appearing in roles such as DJ Roy Golloway in The Bill during the '80s. he also starred as Tony in Abigail's Party.

Terry Kiely - Karl 'Fletch' Fletcher

Arguably the biggest character in the series, Karl ‘Fletch’ Fletcher was a true legend of Harchester United. After stints in Real Mallorca and Real Murcia, Fletch, played by Terry Kiely, was a star striker for the Dragons across three different stints from 1986 to 1999.

After Dream Team, Terry's IMDB suggests he stepped away from the industry. He later went on to work as a swimming pool lifeguard.
