Where the Outnumbered cast are now as BBC announces 2024 Christmas special return

Outnumbered, a beloved British sitcom of the past two decades, has resonated with fans and parents alike, who found familiarity in the chaotic daily life of the Brockman family. And now it's returning to the BBC for a Christmas special.

The Brockmans, portrayed by Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner, are a middle-class couple from Chiswick, West London, 'outnumbered' by their three children. The trio of mischievous and hilarious kids included hyperactive Ben, played by Daniel Roche, and his siblings Karen and Jake, brought to life by Ramona Marquez and Tyger Drew-Honey.

The BBC series graced our screens for five seasons from 2007 to 2014, with the cast reuniting for a Christmas Special in 2016.

Hugh Dennis, a man of many talents, is known for his work as a writer, comedian, actor, impressionist and voice-over artist.

Prior to Outnumbered, he made appearances in various TV shows including Doctors, Mock of the Week, and Me, You and Him, which he also co-created.

Since the end of Outnumbered, Hugh's career hasn't slowed down. He continues to act and appear on numerous TV shows, including Richard Osman's House of Games, and played Robert Hargreaves in the 2018 film Nativity Rocks!

And if you weren't already aware, Hugh and Claire Skinner are now an item off-screen.

But what about the Outnumbered kids?

What are they up to now?

Tyger Drew-Honey - Jake

Tyger Drew-Honey, who played the role of Jake - the sarcastic teenager with a keen interest in girls that often worried his mum - was just a pre-teen when he became a regular on Outnumbered. Now 28, Tyger has continued his acting career since the last episode aired in 2016, appearing in various TV roles including a stint on E4's Celebs Go Dating.

Most recently, he portrayed Alistair Ryle in the stage production Posh, which toured the UK between September and October 2021.

Aside from Outnumbered, Tyger is known for playing Dylan Thompson in the series Cuckoo from 2012 to 2019. In 2021, he starred as Malcy Smith in an episode of Grantchester and also portrayed Jon Craven in the film Me, Myself and Di.

His other credits include Citizen Khan, Death in Paradise, Horrid Henry: The Movie, and Doctors. Tyger also works as a voiceover artist.

Daniel Roche - Ben

Daniel Roche, who played Ben - a pathological liar and a genuine pain in the backside - was just five-years-old when he landed his role in Outnumbered. Known in the show for his constant theorising, questioning and wild stories, he never gave his parents a moment's peace.

Daniel also played the title role in a BBC adaptation of Just William (2010), which won a children's BAFTA for best drama. He appeared in the Sky1 comedy series Little Crackers, portraying a young Stephen Fry on December 20, 2010.

The TV star, now 24, still sports the iconic floppy hair in some snaps that fans associate with Ben, but apart from that, he's unrecognisable. He even flaunts a chest tattoo in some Instagram photos.

Known as Danny Roche on social media, the star resides in London and is an alumnus of King's College London. He's an avid rugby player and is reportedly competing at a semi-professional level.

Ramona Marquez - Karen

Karen was the curious youngest sibling of the Outnumbered children who had a knack for storytelling. Actress Ramona Marquez portrayed the character for seven years until she was 13.

The actress, now 23, sports straightened brunette hair and a choppy fringe. She has also developed an edgy style, showcasing dramatic flick eyeliner, a collection of silver chain jewellery, and tattoos.

Beyond Outnumbered, Ramona is no stranger to the big screen, having played Princess Margaret in The King's Speech (2010), and voiced the character of Gwen in Arthur Christmas.

She also featured in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and A Louder Silence, along with the television series Secrets and Words. Most recently, Ramona played Carla in Wish You Were Gone (2021) and Charlotte in 7 Hours on Earth.
