Whiteout Conditions Partially Shut Down California Interstate

Snow coupled with high winds forced the partial shutdown of Interstate 80 in the Tahoe area of California on Tuesday, January 10, according to state highway patrol.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), I-80 was closed westbound at the Nevada state line and eastbound at Colfax “due to high winds and whiteout driving conditions.” There was no estimated time of reopening, police said. Credit: CHP Truckee via Storyful
