Whiteside County Sheriff's Office responds to fatal crash in rural Rock Falls

Mar. 18—WHITESIDE COUNTY, Ill. — On Saturday, March 16, at 7:05 a.m., the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office was notified of a single vehicle motorcycle crash on Dixon Avenue, west of Stacie Lane.

According to a news release by Sheriff's Office, members of its Crash Reconstruction Unit determined the motorcycle, operated by Shawn Keane, 46, of Dixon, traveled eastbound on Dixon Avenue at a high rate of speed, left the roadway, and partially impacted a utility pole. Keane was pronounced deceased on scene.

The Sheriff's Office and Whiteside County Coroner's Office were assisted on scene by the Illinois Conservation Police, Rock Falls Police Department, CGH EMS, Rock Falls Fire Department and Slim N' Hanks.
