Who will emerge victorious in the Robot Wars final?

Robot Wars is almost over and that brings me great sadness, it seems that all epic sporting competitions are coming to an end at the moment with one more episode of Robot Wars left and Team GB bowing out of the Olympics in a monumental second place. However it’s not all doom and gloom because there’s an epic Robot Wars Grand Final first!

But the big question is, who will emerge victorious on the grandest stage of them all, well the grandest stage of them all for robots and claim the most coveted robotic fighting prize out there. It’s going to be one of six robots.

First up is Carbide, the winner of the first episode with the impressive spinning bar that can operate at 2300rpm and hit at more than 60 times more energy than a sniper rifle shot. Carbide tore through the competition impressing in the heats and emerging as the clear winner in the head to head. Carbide’s weapon is so destructive that any robot should fear it.

Then we have Shockwave a customisable lifter bot able to change up its front scoop weapon to better combat specific types of robot. We saw it deploying this change of weapon to good effect against the spinners in episode two and again in the hard-hitting final against Thor that saw Shockwave emerge victorious.

Up next is TR2 a powerful flipper. TR2 triumphed in its final against over-confident and arrogant fellow flipper Dantomkia to make it through to the next round and it seemed to be the superior driving skills of the show’s youngest driver that propelled this flipper to the next round. Sadly I don’t think TR2 is the best flipper in the final!

I think the best flipper in the final is Apollo, the winner of the next episode, who swiftly became one of the most iconic robots ever in Robot Wars by taking out not one, not two, but three house robots during its head to head round as well as beating every other robot to win.

And last but not least we have the plucky underdog with the ridiculously powerful vertical spinner who lost in the heats but was given a second chance as Chompalot caught fire and could not continue. With just two battles to qualify it was Pulsar who triumphed beating Gabriel and fellow promising spinner Ironside 3.

That’s not it, I did mention six robots earlier and I meant it. The judges get to pick a wildcard and they’ve got the runners up in each final to choose from. Which means that one of Thor, Dantomkia, Gabriel, Behemoth or Storm 2 will make the final. My money is on Storm 2.

But who do I think will win? Honestly robots like Pulsar and Carbide have incredibly destructive weapons but I’m a sucker for a good flipper and I think Apollo and it’s huge flipper will send the competition outside the arena.

Who do you think will win?
