Yahoo News Who's won the Guinness World Record for Longest Marvel Career?
Most of the Marvel faithful will already know this, but there are two actors who've played live-action superheroes for the studio longer than any other – and they've now been recognised by the Guinness World Records.
Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart, aka Wolverine and Charles Xavier/Professor X, first appeared in the original X-Men film in 2000 up until Logan in 2017... spanning 16 years and 228 days as Marvel stars.
So on Wednesday (February 20), they were both presented with the Guinness World Record for Longest Career as a Live-Action Marvel Superhero.
Jackman was given the good news by This Morning's Alison Hammond, who handed him a cool plaque before introducing a video from Stewart.
"Hi, Hugh my dear," Stewart said in the video. "I have discovered that you and I are now in the Guinness Book of Records. Congratulations, my friend. There's another thing to hang on your wall."
Unless Robert Downey Jr fancies another crack at Iron Man in a couple of years, the record will probably stay intact for a while.
And as for actually extending the record, there is a wild rumour out there that the supposedly-retired Jackman could be making an appearance in Avengers: Endgame, while Stewart is apparently "game" to return as Professor X... at least in the TV series Legion. But that's a start, right?
