Struggling Fabio Silva must have a clause in his Rangers loan from Wolves stating he starts every game, according to Derek Ferguson.

After positive early signs following his move from the English Premier League, the £35million man has struggled to show his best form with the Light Blues' title bid stuttering. Having started his Ibrox career as a challenger to Cyriel Dessers for the central striker position the Portuguese U21 international has been deployed on the left wing in recent games - coinciding with a three-game winless run for Rangers.

Philippe Clement and his side are facing tough questions over their Scottish Premiership title credentials after they failed to find a way through Dundee just days after defeat to Ross County at Dingwall - with Silva coming in for criticism having netted just four goals since his January move north. Former Ibrox star Ferguson slammed the contribution of the 21-year-old.

He said on Open Goal: "Silva offers you absolutely nothing. He must have a clause in his contract that he starts every game because on his past five, six performances he's been nothing short of woeful. He contributes absolutely nothing. £35million player?

"What is he? Wide man, through the middle. He does nothing. No contribution. It's at this time of the season. If you want to be champions you've got to have that mental strength. Under pressure? Deal with it."
