Why “The View” isn't on today — and when it returns with new episodes
The cohosts return next week after a short break, with guests Kyra Sedgwick, Valerie Bertinelli, Jesse Eisenberg, and "Star Trek" star Sonequa Martin-Green.
One day after The Incredibles characters helped lock Whoopi Goldberg into a wind machine, The View has entered a dormant period in observation of the Easter holiday favored by the Ghost actress' good friend, Pope Francis.
The View did not air a new episode on Friday — otherwise known to observers as Good Friday — because of the Easter holiday weekend, Entertainment Weekly has learned.
The show returns on Monday with a new (pre-taped) episode featuring interviews with actress Kyra Sedgwick and Abbott Elementary star Lisa Ann Walter, before live shows kick up again on Tuesday.
Producer Brian Teta further noted on Thursday's episode of the Behind the Table podcast that there is “a full week of new episodes of The View every day next week," though the companion audio project won't return until Tuesday.
Notable guests next week include Valerie Bertinelli and Star Trek: Discovery actors Sonequa Martin-Green and Wilson Cruz on Tuesday; Jesse Eisenberg and Riley Keough on Wednesday; Elizabeth Hurley and Damian Hurley on Thursday, and Leslie Bibb on Friday.
The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
