Huge wild fires on the Bwlch Mountain led to a large area of grassland being destroyed. Dramatic images captured the moment the blaze grew on the mountain.

The fire brigade were called to scene at around 9.26pm on Friday with crews from Brecon and Talgarth fire stations attending. It took more than three hours for the fire to be controlled, with a stop message recorded at 1.02am on Saturday.

Around 20 hectares of mountain were destroyed as a result of the fire. A spokeswoman form the Mid and West Wales Fire Service said a pump was used to tackle the blaze, along with a 4x4 Polaris vehicle. Join our WhatsApp news community here for the latest breaking news.
