Wildfire Prompts Evacuations on Greek Island of Rhodes

A wildfire on the Greek Island of Rhodes led to road closures and evacuations on Wednesday, July 19, local officials said.

An archeological site in the island had to remove their visitors due to the fire on Wednesday, CNN Greece reported.

This footage by Peter Kempson shows firefighting planes grabbing water from the Gadoura Dam in Rhodes.

A number of wildfires have broken out across Greece, burning in the Attica and Loutraki regions, as well as Athens and Crete, Protothema reported
