“In a split second, Morgan Kincaid’s life changes forever,” reads the logline. “She’s on her way home from work when a complete stranger begs her to take her baby, then places the infant in her arms. Before Morgan can stop her, the distraught mother jumps in front of an oncoming train.”

“In complete shock and totally unaware of how the woman knew her name, the police take Morgan in for questioning. She soon learns that the woman who jumped was Nicole Markham, prominent CEO of the athletic brand Breathe. She also learns that no witness can corroborate her version of events, which means she has just become a murder suspect. To prove her innocence, Morgan must frantically retrace the last days of Nicole’s life. Was Nicole a new mother struggling with paranoia or was she in danger? As Morgan desperately attempts to make sense of it all, she realises she may be in danger herself.”

The book was one of Canada’s best-selling novels and has been sold in 11 countries.

Wildling has previously produced feature films including “Young Werther” starring Alison Pill, Douglas Booth and Iris Apatow and thriller “See For Me” starring Kim Coates and Jessica Parker Kennedy. The company launched a TV division last year and its series slate now includes the screen adaptation of “A Death at The Party” by Amy Stuart with screenwriter Joanne Sarazen (“Tammy’s Always Dying”).

Little Mama Media’s TV slate includes the CBC Gem and ITVX series “Something Undone” with Madison Walsh (“The Expanse”).

“The appeal and potential to develop ‘Woman on the Edge’ into a TV series is undeniable,” said Natalie Urquhart, development executive at Wildling Pictures. “Samantha M. Bailey taps into so many poignant and universal themes in her writing, from motherhood to mental health and beyond. Not to mention the mysterious twists and turns throughout the story, which we know will have audiences on the edge of their seats! We are delighted to be partnering with the brilliant team at Little Mama Media to bring this thrilling story to the screen”.

Jordan Hayes, founder and producer at Little Mama Media said: “We’re very excited to collaborate with the brilliant minds at Wildling Pictures on this gripping and timely story. Samantha M. Bailey has created fierce, complex characters and we cannot wait to bring this captivating narrative to the screen.”
