Will Mellor says BBC rejected Two Pints reboot
The popular sitcom ended in 2011
Will Mellor has revealed that the BBC rejected his proposed idea for a one-off reboot series of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.
The sitcom originally aired across various channels on the BBC from 2001 to 2011 before being brought to an end following the departure of most of the original cast members.
Mellor was asked on Twitter if he would do a one-off series of the show to which he replied: "We have a script done!! It’s called Two Pints Last Orders. The BBC turned it down in afraid!"
Mellor recently said that he was keen to bring the show back as a thank you to fans: "I've always said I would love to do it, I love playing the character and would love to revisit where they would be now and so much good stuff could have happened (to them)."

He added: "People love the show and it's nostalgia for people. For the people that supported the show and kept it going for 10 years, I'd like to do it for them. But the problem that you've got now is, that the powers that be have...who's going to make this?"
The show was one of BBC Three's first hits and helped break a number of careers including Mellor's and his co-stars Ralf Little, Sheridan Smith and Kathryn Drysdale.
Since Two Pints ended, Mellor has been a staple on British TV, featuring in hit shows such as Line of Duty, Waterloo Road and Broadchurch.
Mellor has also starred in Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, EastEnders and Casualty.
He also appeared on last year's edition of Strictly Come Dancing where he was a hit with the audience before eventually finishing in fifth place.
