“Willow” star Warwick Davis calls Disney+ removing the series from its platform 'embarrassing'

Willow Ufgood is feeling all kinds of Ufbad after Disney removed Willow from its streaming service in May.

Warwick Davis, who plays the titular character on the series based on Ron Howard's beloved 1988 film, took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his frustration at the show's removal.

"I meet lovely people on a daily basis who are fans of #Willow, who are the reason the @DisneyPlus series was made," Davis wrote. "Please tell me @WaltDisneyCo, what do I say to these subscribers when they ask why they can't watch the series any more? #embarrassing"

The first season of Willow the series, which picked up 20 years after the events of film, centered on Ufgood as he leads a ragtag group of heroes on a dangerous quest far from home to save the world from the monstrous Gales.

Disney+ originally announced in March that Willow would not be returning for a second season, though it left the door open for a possible continuation of the series. That door was seemingly closed in May when the entire series was pulled from the platform.

Series creator Jonathan Kasdan told EW earlier this year that he and the team had "every intention of doing more" when asked about a potential season 2.

"I'm sitting in my office and continuing to plan and scheme. It's a strange time in the business," Kasdan said. "It's a transformative time for Disney. So, I couldn't tell you anything that felt certain, except that we're continuing to work on this with every intention of doing more."

Howard, too, had hoped for a second season so that he could once again step behind the camera, noting that was " a little disappointed" that he didn't have the time to during the first season.
