Wiltshire: Parents pay tribute to 'happy-go-lucky' son killed in crash while riding toy scooter
The parents of an eight-year-old boy who died after he was hit by a car while playing in Wiltshire have said he was "the light of our small village".
Police said Lennix Sutcliffe was fatally injured while riding a toy scooter when a driver was pulling into a driveway in Woodland View, Dilton Marsh, at around 4.30pm on Saturday.
His parents Jackie and Chris paid tribute to their son after he died at the scene.
"Our Lennix was always playing, a happy-go-lucky child who was loved by everyone and who loved everyone," they said in a statement.
"He simply loved life and was the light of our small village. He loved Pokemon and his favourite character was Charizard. He was playing today, just playing, taking every ounce of enjoyment that life offered.
"We as a family are now coming together to support one another. We ask our community to provide us both time and space in the days, weeks and months ahead of us."
Wiltshire Police, who earlier said a man in his 30s was being interviewed by detectives, said enquiries remain ongoing.
The force appealed for privacy for Lennix's family as they try to come to terms with their loss.
