One of Keir Starmer's biggest allies has secured his West Midlands seat. Pat McFadden has won the Wolverhampton South East seat for Labour in the 2024 general election. He secured 16,800 votes.

Reform UK came second with 7,612 votes in the seat. It means Labour has a majority of 9,188 votes in a constituency it has generally held.

Wolverhampton South East has been safe Labour territory for decades and has been held by the party since its creation in 1974. MP Pat McFadden represented the constituency since 2005 and is one of Labour's major players these days, helping to lead Keir Starmer's election campaign.

Mr McFadden even held the seat in 2019 when the other two in Wolverhampton fell to the Conservatives as Labour's 'red wall' crumbled - though it was a close run thing, surviving with a majority of just 1,235.

Turnout: 43.7%
