Woman in 90s dies after crash with HGV near B&Q in Gainsborough

An elderly woman has died after being involved in a collision with an HGV in a Lincolnshire town. Police first reported the incident, which took place on Lea Road near B&Q in Gainsborough, at 11.30am on Saturday (April 20) and the road was closed for some time.

Emergency services attended the scene and the woman, a pedestrian in her 90s, was airlifted to hospital. Lincolnshire Police issued an update on Sunday, April 21 confirming that the woman had died.

No arrests have been made and officers are appealing to the public for more information. The full police update on Sunday reads: "We are saddened to report that the pedestrian involved in this collision has died.
