Woman arrested after video surfaces of alleged sexual misconduct with inmate at HMP Wandsworth

Officers have arrested a woman in connection with a video appearing to show a prison officer having sex with an inmate. Footage circulated online on Friday showing the prisoner and staff member appearing to be engaged in the act at HMP Wandsworth.

The Met immediately launched an investigation, confirming on Saturday that a woman had been arrested for misconduct in public office. A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: "A police investigation was launched on 28 June after officers were made aware of a video allegedly filmed inside HMP Wandsworth.

"A woman was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on 28 June. She has been taken into police custody. Enquiries continue. We remain in close contact with the Ministry of Justice."
