Woman in hospital after being attacked by two dogs in Edinburgh

A woman has been hospitalised with serious injuries after being attacked by two dogs in Edinburgh.

Emergency services, including the Scottish Ambulance Service, scrambled to a property on Academy Street in the capital this morning, May 16. just after 9am.

A 26-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh by paramedics following the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 9.15am on Thursday, 16 May, 2024 officers were called to reports of a person having been attacked by two dogs within a property at Academy Street, Leith."

"Emergency services attended and a 26-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh by ambulance with serious injuries.

"Officers remain in attendance and enquiries are ongoing."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman added: “We received a call at 9:10 hours today to attend an incident on Academy Street, Edinburgh.

“We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and one patient was transport to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
