A woman was rescued by police after she was “forced into a car” and “kidnapped” by a man against her will.
The victim was abducted in Broughton Road close to Croydon University Hospital at around 1.37pm on Tuesday.
Specialist officers tracked the woman down to a terraced house over a mile away in Westbrook Road, Thornton Heath.
The Chronicle reported that a police car turned its siren off as it pulled in to the residential street before officers launched the raid.
One of the police officers was bitten by an out-of-control dog during the rescue.
A man was arrested on suspicion of kidnap and taken into custody.
He was further arrested for possessing a dangerous dog.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Enquiries are ongoing. The woman and the man are believed to be known to each other.”
