Police are on the hunt for a man after a large wad of cash was stolen from a woman waiting at a bank in west London.

The “brazen” theft, on Wembley’s High Road on January 28, left the victim “shaken and upset”, Metropolitan Police said on Thursday.

The woman was waiting to pay in a “large quantity of cash” when a man approached her, snatched an envelope with the cash inside and fled the bank.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to identify following the incident.

PC Joss Stott from the North West Command Unit said: “We are releasing this image in the hope that someone recognises this person – if you do, please contact police immediately.

“While the victim was not harmed, she is understandably shaken and upset by this brazen theft. I would urge anyone who can help identify this person or can assist the investigation to get in touch.”
