This booze hack will stop slugs from 'terrorising your garden' There's nothing worse than finding your plants, and the leaves are covered in holes. Pests in your garden are inevitable, but there are ways to get rid of them. Aphids can wreck your plants, but deter them with liquid soap or pesticides.

Rodents will flee your produce by mixing pepper and oil and sprinkling it around your plants. There's a simple trick to get rid of slugs as well. TikToker @meggrowsplants has a solution that requires a drink you may already have in your fridge.

She shared a video that has since gone viral, showing that her plants have been destroyed by some kind of pesky pest. She easily determined the culprit as slugs, because of the slime left behind on the leaves, reports the Express. "I usually don't like un-aliving things in the garden, but I have seen slug damage everywhere, and not just my peppers. They have been terrorising my entire garden."

The solution? A bowl of beer. Meg explained that slugs and snails are attracted to the yeast in beer. She poured a can of beer into several bowls and placed them throughout her plants.

The next day, the bowls were filled with slugs. One commenter wrote: "Omg that is so many slugs." She responded: "SO many I wasn't even expecting it." It wasn't until she tried this trick did she realise she has a slug infestation. She said she's planning on continuing to put bowls out until they are gone.
