A Worcestershire site manager has won an award for the construction of quality homes.

Dan Mills, a senior site manager at a Persimmon housing development in Pershore, has had his commitment to quality recognised by the National House Building Council (NHBC). This marks the third time Mr Mills has won the Pride in the Job Quality Award, which celebrates dedication to producing the highest quality homes.

Since joining Persimmon Homes South Midlands in 2019, he has proven himself as a leader in his field.

Starting out as a labourer nearly a decade ago, he now manages a site building 198 homes for residents at the Orchard Mews development, presenting a blend of sizes and architectural styles.

On his award, Mr Mills said: "I am really proud to have been given this award for all that I have accomplished at Orchard Mews alongside my hard-working team who deserve this award as much as I do.

"It is really important to me that we produce high quality properties, not only for the professional pride we feel in doing a job, but because we know that house will become someone’s home where they can build their life and take care of their property.

"So, I want to share this recognition with my fantastic team on the Orchard Mews site."

Pride in the Job is renowned as the most respected competition in the homebuilding industry, putting the spotlight on exceptional site managers.

Every site manager working on a site registered for an NHBC Buildmark warranty is automatically entered into the competition.

Quality Award winners have the chance to progress to the Seal of Excellence Award round, with potential later recognition as a Regional Award winner, and even a finalist in the Pride in the Job Supreme Awards in January 2025.

Russell Griffin, managing director at Persimmon Homes South Midlands, praised his dedication.

He said: "I am really happy for Dan because I know just how hard he works to lead his team to get great results for Persimmon customers in their quest for a house they’d love to live in."
