The World’s Oldest Person Eats Bacon Every Day - Must Be Healthy Then

The world’s oldest person, aged 116, eats four strips of bacon each day so that much maligned fried meat may deserve a second chance.

Susannah Mushatt Jones, who was born in 1899, lives in Brooklyn and eats her morning bacon along with eggs and grits.

An aide at the care home she lives told New York Post: ‘She’ll eat bacon all day long.’

Before you go too crazy on the fatty pork meat, Ms Jones has never smoked or drank - so she probably lives a healthier life than the majority of us.

Ms Jones had always wanted to be a teacher but her parents were sharecroppers Alabama and could not afford for her training.

Instead, she moved north to New Jersey where she worked as nanny.

While she never had children of her own, Ms Jones has nearly 100 nephews and nieces, many of whom she helped pay for their college fees.

And finally, here is her golden rule for longevity as relayed by her niece, Selbra Mushatt, to CBS New York: ‘ She did not smoke, she did not drink, she did follow the golden rule; be nice to everyone and love your family.

‘Support each other, look after each other, and be your best, but all with faith in the middle.’

So eat bacon in moderation guys…
