Tulisa Contostavlos has been out of the spotlight for a few years now, but she's aiming to make a big comeback.

The former X Factor judge and N-Dubz star recently released a brand new single called 'Daddy', and has admitted that she's "not about chasing celebrity" with her new music.

"I took some time out of the spotlight to refocus on what is important to me, and that’s music," she said (via Metro). "I've spent a lot of time in the studio writing and recording new music, and now I have many new tracks ready to go.

"For me it’s not about chasing celebrity or chart positions. I lost my way for a while trying to make music for other people or what I think people wanted to hear.

"Now it’s all about putting out music that I love and is true to myself. These songs are a return to my roots and if you happen to like them, then brilliant!"

Tulisa kicked-off her solo career back in 2012 with the Number One single 'Young', though the following year her reputation took a dent after she was arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs.

The case later collapsed in 2014 after the judge ruled that an undercover reporter lied in a pre-trial hearing.

Last year, Tulisa won a lawsuit against will.i.am and Britney Spears and was given 10% of the publishing rights to 'Scream & Shout' after being left out of the writing credits.
