It's time to head back to the Dutton ranch!

The second half of season 5 of Yellowstone will premiere on Sunday, November 10, Paramount announced in a press release on June 20. Filming for the long-awaited second half of the season is ongoing in Montana, as production began on May 20.

The final installment of the hit Western series has been a long time coming, as the first half of season 5 aired from November 2022 to January 2023, and it was originally slated to conclude with a November 2023 premiere.

The dates got repeatedly pushed back due to the writers' strike, and in November 2023, the network announced that it would be another year before fans got their fill of the Dutton family.

Amid news of the beginning of production on the final episodes and the long-awaited premiere date, it remains unlikely that Kevin Costner will be involved at all in Yellowstone's conclusion.

He told PEOPLE in this week's cover story that he's open to returning, but there's nothing confirmed as of yet.

"I've always felt that…It might be an interesting moment to come back and finish the mythology of this modern-day family," he said. "And if that happens, I would step into it if I agreed with how it was being done."

Reflecting on the controversy around his exit from the series, which he maintained had to do with scheduling conflicts — there was a 14-month pause on production, and he never received any scripts, he said — Costner, 69, admitted he was "disappointed" that no one from the show came to his defense.

"I read all the stories. I was disappointed that nobody on their side... ever stepped up to defend what it was I actually did for them. There came a moment where I thought, 'Wow, when is somebody going to say something about what I have done versus what I haven't done?'"

Ultimately, he "loved the show" and the character, Dutton family patriarch John Dutton, who he portrayed from 2018 to 2022. "I liked the people on the show. I liked what it was about. I love that world."

As the series comes to its conclusion beginning in November, the Dutton family will continue to navigate "shifting alliances, unsolved murders [and] open wounds" as the ranch is "in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park," a synopsis reads.
