New Yorkers Flock to Watch Spectacular 'Manhattanhenge' Sunset

New Yorkers flooded Manhattan’s streets to observe a Manhattanhenge sunset on Tuesday, May 28.

The bi-annual event occurs in late May and again in mid-July when the sun sets in alignment with the city’s street grid.

Footage from X user @KellyrKopp shows locals and tourists pouring onto 42nd Street to admire the sunset.

The city of New York said on X that the “spectacular” phenomenon could be observed at 8:13 p.m. on Tuesday on 14th St, 23rd St, 34th St, 42nd St and 57th St. Credit: @KellyrKopp via Storyful
