New Yorkers Gather on Streets and Rooftops for Solar Eclipse

New Yorkers gathered on streets and rooftops around the city on Monday, April 8, to watch a partial solar eclipse.

Footage captured by Nollaig O’Connor shows people gathered in the Upper East side neighborhood on Monday afternoon.

While New York City would see a 90-percent eclipse, a total solar eclipse would be viewable in parts of western New York along with many other regions of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Credit: Nollaig O’Connor via Storyful
