Yorkshire woman, 24, killed in horror crash as heartbroken family pay tribute to 'amazing' daughter

Tributes have been paid to an 'amazing' young woman who died in a crash in East Yorkshire on Sunday.

Abbey Elgey, 24, from Driffield, was described by her family as an 'amazing' daughter, sister, partner and friend who had an 'infectious smile'.

In a statement, her family said: "Abbey was such a sociable person and loved being around her friends. She particularly loved walking her beloved dog Bruno, and not a single day will go by where we all won’t miss her infectious smile.

"Abbey was an amazing daughter, sister, partner, and friend and we, along with her dog Bruno, will miss her more than we could ever begin to put into words.

"We are truly heartbroken."

The crash happened on Sunday at around 8pm near North Frodingham, East Yorkshire, and involved a white BMW and a black Audi.

The collision happened on Frodingham Road near to the junction with Cross Road between Brandesburton and North Frodingham.

A man also died. Humberside Police said both drivers died at the scene.

The circumstances of the collision are being investigated by police. Anyone with information is asked to contact police quoting log 496 of May 5.
