‘Young Sheldon’ Stars Montana Jordan & Emily Osment, CBS Boss Tease “Emotional” Final Episodes, Series’ Sendoff To Include Pilot Encore
Young Sheldon is heading into the final stretch. Following last night’s Episode 10, The Big Bang prequel, starring Iain Armitage in the title role, will air two back-to-back episodes over the next two weeks as it wraps its seven-season run on CBS.
“I’ve seen three of the four episodes, I haven’t seen the last final half-hour but these episodes are tremendous. They are emotional, they are funny,” CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach said during the network’s 2024-25 schedule reveal Thursday. “You see the growth in this cast, especially the kids who started out so young.”

Jim Parsons Teases 'Big Bang Theory's Character Reprisal Ahead Of 'Young Sheldon' Series Finale
To highlight that — and to celebrate its flagship comedy series — CBS will create a full-circle moment the week of May 13, with the first two episodes of Young Sheldon re-airing on Monday, leading to the show’s final two episodes on Thursday.
As previously reported, the series finale of Young Sheldon will feature appearances by series executive producer and narrator Jim Parsons, who portrayed Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory throughout its 12-season run, and fellow Big Bang alumna Mayim Bialik.
The remaining episodes of Young Sheldon are expected to incorporate the death of Sheldon’s father George Sr., played by Lance Barber. In The Big Bang Theory, it was revealed the George Sr. died when Sheldon was 14, but the cause of his death was never disclosed in the mothership series.
Young Sheldon stars Montana Jordan and Emily Osment hinted at what is in store when asked about the upcoming May 16 series finale. “Get ready to cry,” said Osment during a red carpet interview with Deadline Thursday following CBS’ presentation. “Yes, get your tissues ready,” added Jordan.
Jordan, who plays Sheldon’s older brother Georgie, and Osment, who portrays Georgie’s new wife Mandy, are gearing up for their own spinoff series premiering this fall, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which follows the couple as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage.
