YouTube star Nico Leonard strengthens Larne FC links with new kit deal

Larne are the latest Irish League club to unveil their new kits for the upcoming season. The new offering from Nike was worn by the Invermen for the first time in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Stranraer.

It has received a good response from the fans so far. The kit also reverts back to an all red top bar some white detailing around the neck.

That's not the only big change however as there is also a new principal sponsor on the front of the kit. Luxury watch dealers 'Pride & Pinion' will take pride of place on the strips for next season.

Pride & Pinion, whose flagship store is based in the Merchant Hotel, has grown into one of the largest luxury watch dealers in the world since its inception back in 2017.

The company has had a long-standing relationship with the back-to-back Irish Premiership champions. This new sponsorship further strengthens that commitment.

Larne could further benefit from those links however, as Pride & Pinion founder and CEO Nico Leonard is something of a social media sensation. The entrepreneur is credited with a genre of YouTube videos that centres on high-end watches, being the biggest watch-related YouTube channel and largest cross-platform creator regarding horology.

His informal tone has earned him a huge following amongst members of the watch community and the wider general public. Nico has over 1.7m subscribers on his official YouTube page and 1.1m followers on TikTok.

Last month he shot a video at Inver Park highlighting his dislike for watch brand Hublot which has been viewed 130,000 times to date. Hopefully this new link up with Larne help benefit the club even further and help turn the spotlight on the Irish League as a whole.
