Zach Braff has wished his girlfriend Florence Pugh a happy birthday in a new Instagram post.

Little Women star Pugh turned 25 years old on 3 January and the 45-year-old Scrubs actor celebrated by sharing a series of photos of her alongside a heartfelt message.

"Happy Birthday to the most fun person I’ve ever met," he wrote. "I would have felt blessed to have smiled with you for one night.

The photos see Pugh pose in front of and behind the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles while other snaps depict the couple together on what seems to be a plane and another on a hike.

The pair, who are thought to have been dating since April 2019, are typically private about their relationship, although Pugh publicly criticised comments on their 21-year age gap last year.

The Oscar-nominated actor said she had received "comments hurling abuse and being horrid" minutes after sharing a tribute to Braff to mark his 45th birthday last April.

In a video subsequently posted to the photo sharing platform, Pugh said: “I will underline this fact, I am 24 years old, I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love and I would never in my life ever, ever tell anyone who they can and cannot love.

“It is not your place and really it has nothing to do with you.

“So if those rules are something that you do not like then please unfollow me because the abuse you throw at him is abuse you are throwing at me and I don’t want those followers and I don’t want to have to be protecting my comments every time I post a picture of him.”
