Zara Tindall and her husband Mike have been a source of joy for Royal enthusiasts since their initial encounter in Australia back in 2003. The daughter of Princess Anne and her first husband, Mark Phillips, was on her gap year at the time, while Mike was part of the World Cup-winning England rugby team.

Their chemistry was undeniable and fast forward to today, they are happily residing in Gloucestershire with their young brood, although they prefer to keep their three children - Mia, Lena and Lucas - away from the public eye, reports the Express. They continue to pursue their careers in the sports industry, with Zara being an equestrian and Mike co-hosting a rugby podcast - The Good, The Bad and The Rugby.

In this article, let's reminisce over some of the most touching moments from the early stages of their relationship, as the couple prepares to celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary on July 30.

Mike Tindall and Zara Phillips, as she was then known, made an appearance at Cheltenham Festival when their relationship was relatively new. They went on to marry in 2011 and have since welcomed three children together, all born in Gloucestershire, Mia, Lena and Lucas.

They are one of the most popular royal couples due to their loving yet down to earth attitude and sense of humour.

Zara and Mike have never been ones to shy away from a PDA (public display of affection) and back in 2005 they were seen sharing an intimate moment at the Gatcombe Horse Trials.

In a story shared by Mike whilst appearing on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!, he revealed that the pair first met two years previously in Sydney, at the Manly Wharf bar, where Mike was drowning his sorrows after being dropped from the England rugby squad. The evening soon picked up when he met his future wife.

The Tindall's have always supported each other in their careers, with both of them excelling in their chosen sporting fields. Zara was on the Olympic equestrian team for Great Britain, winning a silver medal at London 2012.

Mike too of course played rugby for Gloucester and internationally for England before retiring, and the pair have always been on the side-lines cheering each other on. Couple goals.

Equestrian trials and festivals form a large part of Zara and Mike’s social calendar, and they did even as far back as 2008. They are pictured here walking their dogs, another animal beloved by the Royal Family as well as horses.

Currently Zara and Mike own two black Labradors, a mother and daughter named Storm and Pepper, and a Brindle Boxer called Blink.

In 2009 Zara and Mike were pictured relaxing onboard a yacht during the Artemis Challenge race in August. Despite the intensity of the activity the couple still found time to unwind and enjoy each other’s company on the summer’s day.

The following year Mike proposed to Zara, with them marrying just a few months after Prince William and Kate Middleton, now formally known as the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Christmas Day 2013 marked the end of an era for Mike and Zara, as just weeks later she gave birth to their first child, Mia. Mia Grace Tindall, now 10, was born on January 17, 2014, at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

At Sandringham that year Zara was visibly heavily pregnant, but she and Mike looked as cheerful as ever as they joined the rest of the Firm. Traditionally partners have to be married to a royal before they can join them for Christmas, but this rule was later broken when Meghan Markle came to Sandringham months before her May wedding to Prince Harry.

Heartbreakingly, after announcing her second pregnancy in November 2016, almost three years after her Mia, was born, just a month later on Christmas Eve, the couple shared the sad news that they had gone through a miscarriage.

However the family have since gone on to have two more children, Lena Elizabeth on June 18, 2018 and Lucas Philip on March 21 2021. The Tindalls still live on Zara’s mother Princess Anne’s estate in Gloucestershire.
