*TRIGGER WARNING: Suicide

Zara Tindall has shown why she is a favourite when it comes to members of the royal family, after showing her famous caring side as she embraced Lady Gabriella Windsor. Lady Gabriella appeared in the carriage procession at Royal Ascot yesterday (Tuesday, June 18), the first official public appearance since the death of her husband, Thomas Kingston in February.

Mike Tindall, Zara's devoted husband and father of her four children, looked on as she hugged Lady Gabriella. Lady Gabriella Windsor is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and was reported to have attended the race event in 2023 with her husband before his death.

Thomas Kingston died on February 25 from a "traumatic head wound" in an outbuilding at his parents' home in the Cotswolds. He had married Lady Gabriella in 2019 in a ceremony attended by Queen Elizabeth II.

In a statement issued by Buckingham Palace shortly after Mr Kingston's death, Lady Gabriella described him as "an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him" , reports the BBC.

But yesterday, Lady Gabriella was pictured spending much needed quality time with her family, including Zara Tindall and her husband Mike. She was pictured arriving in a carriage accompanied by Princess Anne, and her son Peter Phillips, reports the Daily Mail.

Heart-warming photos show the King's niece giving Lady Gabriella a very big hug with a beaming smile. The event comes days after King Charles Trooping The Colour, which Mike and Zara did not attend as they are not officially working royals - and were enjoying a special date night together at P!nk!'s concert in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
