There’s no stopping the Zayn’s first solo single as it zooms up to the top slot, outselling the nearest competitor, Jonas Blue’s Fast Car, by 23,000 sales.

Zayn will be the first (ex) member of One Direction to have a solo number 1.

Pillowtalk, his first single since leaving the band, was released on Friday 29 January. The accompanying video starring his girlfriend Gigi Hadid has already been watched over 30million times on YouTube. Wow. *Watches for 103th time*.

The incredible reaction to Zayn’s first solo hit has taken even him by surprise. On the release day he tweeted: “Crazy love today :) This s**t is crazy … I can’t believe it. Blown away… Love you all (sic).”

Earlier today Zayn cancelled an appearance on Radio 1 with Greg James. Scheduling difficulties also forced him to pull out of the Graham Norton show last Friday night. His rep told the Daily Mirror: “Unfortunately there was a scheduling conflict as Zayn is currently in the studio completing his album.”

On a Friday night? Someone is working very hard. But if the reaction to his first single is anything to go by, the album is going to go stratospheric. We.Can’t.Wait.
