Zayn Malik has teased fans his autobiography will be released next week and it’s reportedly set to reveal the “full story” behind his messy split with ex-girlfriend Perrie Edwards.

The One Direction quitter sensationally dumped the Little Mix star in August 2015 after four years of dating and though he moved on with model Gigi Hadid in January, he only recently covered up the tattoo of Perrie that was etched into his forearm.

Fans of the couple were devastated and are dying to hear what he’s got to say about the breakdown of his first relationship, even more so after an extract of Perrie’s forthcoming autobiography leaked to the press in which she admitted she was ditched by phone and made “homeless”.

She penned: “I thought about renting but I’ve got dogs and cats, so that was no good. At the time we were promoting Black Magic, and while I was in America, things really hit me and I panicked… I realised I was homeless. I was crying every day, dreading coming back.

“It was horrible, the worst time in my life. A four-year relationship, two year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that.”

According to NME, who have obtained extracts of Zayn’s book, the former boy band star is gearing up to tell his side of the story. In his tome, he writes: “Every lyric I’ve ever written has a story behind it.”

He adds: “All the hard work that went into the creation of ‘Pillowtalk’ was worthwhile because, as soon as it was finished, I intuitively felt I was on the right path. It was a sick cut, nailing the exact sound I wanted to capture in my music. I was also able to sing about a subject that I hadn’t really been able to go near while I was in One Direction: sex.”

Zayn – who wrote all the lyrics for his debut solo album, Mind Of Mine, himself – said the reason he was releasing his autobiography was so that he could “show you as much as I can so that you can judge me on my own terms, not on what the press or anyone else says.”

We’ll see you all in the queue at the book shop.
