Zelensky Says Report of His Hospitalization Was a Fake News Cyberattack
On July 21, hackers targeted Ukrainian radio stations and publicly broadcast a fake claim that President Volodymyr Zelensky was hospitalized.
TAVR media, the largest radio holding group in Ukraine, confirmed that their networks and servers were targeted in the cyberattack and said that “the relevant services are working to solve this problem” in a statement published on Facebook.
Zelensky released a video address from his office shortly after the attack to debunk the claim that he was hospitalized in a critical state.
Zelensky said in the message released on Instagram: “I have bad news for those who are spreading these fakes. I am not alone, there are 40 million of us. And, with all due respect to old age, 44 is not 70,” which is the approximate age of Vladimir Putin. Credit: Volodymyr Zelensky via Storyful
