Zendaya's Neon Tennis Ball Dress Plunged Way Past Her Belly Button
Aced it.
Tenniscore has had a major renaissance the last couple of years, between the resurgence of pleated minis, polished button-ups, and preppy dresses. During the Challengers press tour, Zendaya — and her longtime stylist Law Roach — has expertly taken the casual athleisure trend and turned it into high-fashion statements on the red carpet. The film hits theaters soon (Apr. 26, to be exact), but Zendaya isn't done serving us with looks just yet.
After the Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday, the actress slipped into a sartorial tennis ball: a neon green custom Celia Kritharioti halter dress that plunged way past her belly button. The best part about the frock, however, was the actual green felt tennis ball that adorned the midsection. The fitted lycra gown also had a super high leg slit down the middle of the floor-skimming skirt and a ruched midsection on either side of the very low-cut neckline.
Zendaya kept her accessories to a minimum, opting only for a diamond ring and matching stud earrings (a tennis bracelet would've been too on the nose, perhaps?), and she styled her hair in a chignon bun. Even her glam was simple: a glowy complexion, shimmery eyeshadow, and a mauve lip.
During the actual premiere, Zendaya took a break from the sporty looks with a black-and-pink lingerie-style corseted ballgown from Vera Wang. The bodice featured lacy panels that flowed into a waistband made to look like a garter belt. The massive satin skirt fanned out around her, and black tulle peeked through the middle. She kept her hair and glam the same at both the premiere and later festivities.

"It's interesting because we've had this dress for a while, and it just felt like the right time to bring her out," she told Entertainment Tonight, referring to the pink-and-black gown.
Zendaya has gone quite literal with her styling on the carpet as of late between her now-iconic Dune 2 looks to her country club-ready wardrobe she's been showing off while promoting her highly-anticipated tennis romance. Other looks have included a white collared minidress, a cable-knit sweater, and a pleated gown adorned with tiny tennis racket embroidery.
"I think just the idea of tennis whites in general and kind of playing with that in each of my looks," she told ET about curating her outfits. "It's just been fun, you know, just experimenting and building this other red carpet character."
