Zip Lines Used to Pull Lima Flood Victims and Their Pets to Safety

Rescuers used zip lines to rescue people and animals stranded by flood water in the Lima suburb of Lurigancho-Chosica on Friday.

At least 62 people have died in the worst flooding to hit Peru in decades, according to Reuters. Torrential rain blamed on the El Nino weather pattern have triggered floods and mudslides that have swept away homes, bridges and crops in northern Peru.
