Zoe Ball's son Woody shares goodbye tribute to "wonderful" granny
Zoe Ball's son Woody Cook has penned a tribute to his grandmother after she passed away.
BBC Radio 2 host Zoe announced last month that she was taking time away from her show in order to care for her mum Julia following her pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Overnight, Zoe announced her passing on Instagram.
Woody, who has appeared with his mum on Celebrity Gogglebox and reached the final of the second season of the UK version of The Circle, also posted a tribute to Julia on his own Instagram page.
He shared a photo of himself with her from a few years ago, writing: "Today I say goodbye to Granny J, thank you for being a wonderful woman.
"The only person who always sent me a valentines card. I know you're with Rick now, give him a hug from me. I know he said once when you were panicking in a helicopter over the Jungle 'If you get lost, follow the river!' You'll find him at the end x."
Over on her page, Zoe wrote: "Sleep tight dear Mama. Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy, and how, even in the darkest of days, laughter is the greatest of gifts.
"We are bereft without you but will hold so tight to each other. Your grace & your smile that lit up every room you were in, will light the stars to guide us."
Gaby Roslin stood in for Zoe on her radio show today (April 24), as she has multiple times since Zoe announced her mother's diagnosis. She told viewers about Julia's passing and sent her love and best wishes to her close friends.
Addressing the listeners, she added: "To anybody else who is fighting the fight and being as brave as they possibly can be, I am sending you lots of love as well."
