Anger Over 'Distasteful' Steve Jobs Advert

A Taiwanese advertisement has caused outrage with fans of Steve Jobs for impersonating him in the afterlife enjoying an Android tablet.

The Apple founder , who died four months ago, famously detested Android devices.

Viewers of the advert on YouTube have described it as "distasteful".

In the commercial, Taiwanese comedian and impersonator Ah-Ken dresses in Job's trademark black polo neck shirt, blue jeans and white trainers while wearing white angel's wings and a halo.

He talks about the virtues of the tablet PC made by Action Electronics.

In the final scene, he says: "Thank God, I finally get to play other tablets."

According to his biography, Jobs said he was going to "destroy" Android and was prepared to go to "thermonuclear war" over it.

Although the advert, which does not use Jobs' name, has been described as "funny" by some users who have viewed the clip on YouTube, the majority have reacted angrily.

"Steve Jobs would turn in his grave," said one.

"Beyond distasteful... boycott company," another stated.

"This is ridiculous. Show some respect for Steve Jobs," remarked another.

A spokeswoman for Action Electronics said: "Steve Jobs always promoted things that were good for people, Apple products, so his image can also promote other things that are good... It's just an impersonator, not Jobs."

She added: "We have no choice but to use Android, we can't use iOS," referring to Apple's mobile device operating system.

Jobs' image has been used in past to promote products in Taiwan.

Last year, a drinks company had a Jobs look-a-like promoting a green tea drink.
