A train passenger dubbed "Big Man", whose confrontation with a fellow passenger featured in a viral YouTube video, has been charged with assault.

Alan Pollock, 35, was shown apparently removing 19-year-old Sam Main from the Edinburgh to Perth train on Friday December 9.

The video - filmed by another passenger with a mobile phone - has had more than a million views on YouTube.

The alleged incident happened at Linlithgow station, on board a ScotRail service on Friday, December 9.

British Transport Police said both men had been reported to the procurator fiscal.

Sky News understands that Mr Pollock, an investment banker from Stirling, has been charged with assault.

Mr Main, a student, has been reported under Section 38 of the Criminal Justice and Licensing Act Scotland.
