A busy junction in Stockport was fully closed off earlier after a man 'suffered a medical episode'.

The incident happened at around 1pm on Reddish Road in Reddish, near the The Houldsworth Arms pub. A man suffered a medical episode and fell into the road, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said.

The busy junction at Reddish Road, Broadstone Road and Gorton Road was blocked as police and paramedics responded. Traffic was diverted away from the area.

Some Stagecoach bus services have also been put on a diversion route. The M.E.N understands that the man is now being treated by paramedics on the scene.

The road remains 'partially blocked' due to the incident. No further details on the man's condition have been released at this stage.
