The new face of coffee art: Photo app lets you print pic of yourself into your drink

A Taiwanese coffee chain has allowed customers to put their own face in their drink - thanks to a new smartphone app.

Most coffee drinkers are happy with an arty swirl in their drink - but a new app takes caffeine art to a new level by letting you print your own face into your beverage.

Creative baristas who artfully swirl imaginative designs into your coffee could now be a thing of the past, due to machine which prints photo images on to frothy drinks.

Customers at Taiwanese coffee chain 'Let's Cafe' use a smartphone app to take pictures of themselves which are then printed into the coffee using edible powder.

The results are photo-realistic versions of your own visage staring back at you as you sip your frothy latte.

Let's Cafe claim the technique has made them one of Taiwan's most successful coffee chains.

A spokesperson for the firm said the 'latte art customisation' offers customers something extra 'that even big coffee chains can't.'
