The UFC on FX 2 fight card lined up for Australia lost Robert Peralta last week, but is back in repair Monday with the UFC announcing that Daniel Pineda has stepped in for him against Mackens Semerzier.

Peralta’s manager, Jeff Clark, tweeted last week that his client appeared to have broken a couple of his toes when he kicked the cage.

Pineda (16-7) will now be making his second start under the UFC banner, which will also be his second FX fight card appearance. He defeated Pat Schilling by rear naked choke at UFC on FX 1 in January.

Semerzier (6-3) had been hoping to rematch Peralta, whom he initially lost to at UFC on Fox 1 in November. The bout was eventually ruled a no contest by the California State Athletic Commission, indicating that an accidental clash of heads started the finishing sequence of the fight.

This bout will be Semerzier’s third under the UFC banner with four bouts for the WEC prior to that.

A welterweight clash between Thiago Alves and Martin Kampmann headlines UFC on FX 2, slated for March 3 in Sydney.
